If you have a question about something on CivicMaple, or if you think a page is missing a detail, the quickest way to reach me is by email. I read every message myself, and I try to answer within two business days. If I am away or buried in a research project, it might take a little longer, but I will get back to you.
There are two addresses, and each has a specific purpose. For anything related to the content on the site — a correction, a suggestion for a new topic, or a question about something you read — write to emily@civicmaple.com. That is my personal inbox, and it is the best place to send a note if you want to talk about a particular page, such as something in People or Places. I also use that address for reader questions that shape future pages, so if you have been wondering about a topic and cannot find it here, that is the right place to ask.
For anything else — including technical issues with the site, press inquiries, or requests to reuse material — use info@civicmaple.com. That inbox is checked less frequently, so expect a slightly longer wait, usually up to a week. I do not run a newsroom or a team, so there is no one else to forward your message to. It is just me, Emily Grant, working through the queue one message at a time.
I started CivicMaple because I wanted a reference site that behaves like a good local newspaper: clear, direct, and honest about what it does not cover. That means I do not write about politics, celebrity gossip, or how-to tutorials, and I do not chase trends. If you send a question that falls outside those boundaries, I will tell you plainly and point you to a better resource if I know one.
Before you write, it is worth checking the method page to see how I research and verify facts, and the sources page to understand where the information comes from. If you have already read those and still have a question, please do write. I also keep a corrections page where I log any errors I have fixed, so you can see that I take accuracy seriously.
One last thing: I do not accept guest posts, sponsored content, or paid placements. The site runs without ads or tracking, and that is not going to change. If you are writing to offer a partnership or a link exchange, I will politely decline. But if you are writing because you found a typo, a broken fact, or a page that could be clearer, I genuinely want to hear from you. That is the kind of message that makes this work worthwhile.
